His Renault 5 Turbo is no garage queen. It\u2019s a Renault 5 custom build that\u2019s evolved for 25 years and is still turning heads with its 263bhp punch and relentless attention to detail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Max Power Era Survivor! What followed was a transformation that began in the early 2000s and never stopped evolving. It was first featured in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/\">Fast Car<\/a><\/em> back in 2004, then again in 2006, and it\u2019s been a standout on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/cars\/tuned-renault-5-gtt\/\">Renault 5 modified<\/a> scene ever since.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-94134 lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.statorgears.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_8278.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bodywork-with-custom-dna\">Bodywork with Custom DNA<\/h2>\n<p>From the start, Dicky made this build his own. The full Charisma kit remains the foundation, but every panel has been tweaked \u2014 from shaved indicators and bad boy bonnet to hand-fabricated mirrors and motorbike-style twin exhausts. The rear bumper is a complete one-off, made to house those crazy cans. A Maestro spoiler, smoothed bonnet, and rare \u00a3700 tail lights round off the exterior. Built by B&amp;B Tuning, the 1.4L engine packs 263bhp thanks to a T3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/tuning-tech-guides\/turbocharger-guide\/\">turbo<\/a>, lightened <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/tuning-tech-guides\/fast-car-engine-strengthening-internals-guide\/\">internals<\/a>, ported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/tuning-tech-guides\/fast-car-exhaust-guide\/\">manifolds<\/a>, charge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/tuning-tech-guides\/guide-to-intercoolers\/\">cooler <\/a>and multipoint <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcar.co.uk\/tuning-tech-guides\/car-fuel-guide\/\">injection<\/a>. And it\u2019s been running sweet for 15+ years with no rebuild needed. New FK seats match the original trim pattern perfectly, while the roof lining and panels were re-covered to match. A fresh steering wheel and classic boss setup keep things practical but true to the car\u2019s roots.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-still-driven-still-different\">Still Driven. Still Different.<\/h2>\n<p>Dicky doesn\u2019t trailer this build \u2014 he drives it. And he changes it. Every few years, the look evolves. Right now, it\u2019s rocking a bold black-and-white style, but he\u2019s got the chrome wheels, other bumpers and spoilers all in storage, ready for the next transformation.
